While actor Taylor Kitsch is still trying to lock down a role in Season 2 of HBO's True Detective, the actor has been offered the lead role in Screen Gems' The Raid remake.

Some sources have revealed that the actor is currently in negotiations for The Raid lead, while another unidentified insider claims that the actor and studio are far apart, regarding the financial terms of the deal. No character details were revealed at this time. It's possible that Taylor Kitsch may be able to take on both True Detective and The Raid roles, since production on True Detective is scheduled to end in January, right when The Raid is slated to begin.

The Purge: Anarchy star Frank Grillo revealed in June that he has already signed on for the remake. While production was initially set to start in September, shooting has been delayed to the first quarter of 2015. The remake is set in the world of DEA "fast teams" which will feature a clash between different fighting styles.

Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) is directing from a screenplay by Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace). Taylor Kitsch most recently starred in Lone Survivor and The Normal Heart, and he will next be seen in The Grand Seduction.
