It seems that Twilight star Taylor Lautner had to choose between rubber and steel, and rubber won. Vulture is reporting that Lautner has dropped out of Max Steel so he could star in Stretch Armstrong.

Both films are based off toy lines, with Max Steel a Mattel property and Stretch Armstrong a Hasbro product. It was said that Lautner's decision to go with Stretch Armstrong was based on Hasbro moving the project through development quicker than Mattel was moving forward with Max Steel.

"When you sign up to make a movie with Hasbro, you know it will be in theaters a year later," said one of the site's sources who was familiar with the Lautner decision.
