Where do you go after the huge success of The Twilight Saga: New Moon? Well, a certain werewolf is hoping to channel his good looks into the world of action figures. Yes, according to The Los Angeles Times, Taylor Lautner (A.K.A. Jacob) is looking to take on the role of Max Steel in a big screen adaptation of the popular Mattel toy line.
Max Steel first hit store shelves in 2001 and quickly became a $100 million franchise that spawned three seasons of a hugely popular animated series. The film would follow the adventures of Josh McGrath, a 19-year-old extreme sports athlete who becomes endowed with the powers of nano-technological machines. They take over his body, making him nearly invincible. And they allow him to change his appearance at will.
The film will come from Paramount Studios, who are eager to cast the young actor because he is guaranteed to bring in a female audience. J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani are currently writing the screenplay. Paramount is targeted a 2011 release date.
