Amanda Seyfried is set to reunite with her A Million Ways to Die in the West director/co-star Seth MacFarlane for the Universal Pictures comedy sequel Ted 2. No character details were given, but the actress is said to be playing the female lead.

Mark Wahlberg is reprising his Ted role as John Bennett, a grown man who lives with his foul-mouthed teddy bear that came to life when he was a child. Mila Kunis, who played John's girlfriend Lori Collins in the original, is said to be returning in a tiny role, that may end up being cut from the film. The decision to give Mila Kunis a lesser role comes strictly from a creative standpoint, and not any animosity between Seth MacFarlane and the actress, who still voices Meg on his Fox animated TV series Family Guy.

Seth MacFarlane is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ted collaborators Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. Media Rights Capital is providing financing, with Universal Pictures expected to finalize their deal to distribute the sequel shortly. We reported in October that the sequel has been slated for release on June 26, 2015.

Amanda Seyfried most recently starred in The Big Wedding and Lovelace. She also lent her voice to the animated comedy Epic. She will next be seen in A Million Ways to Die in the West, which hits theaters May 30.
