Fans of Seth MacFarlane's 2012 film Ted have something to keep an eye out for. The movie was a success, and now MacFarlane is gearing up to release a prequel series based on the character.

The series is set in Boston in 1993 and revolves around a young John Bennett and his friend, Ted. The show will follow the two as they navigate their way through adolescence. While the movies were more focused on the adult John Bennett and his relationship with Ted, the series will be more light-hearted and will focus on the friendship between the two characters. MacFarlane has said that he wants the series to capture the feeling of growing up in the 1990s, and it will be interesting to see how he pulls it off. As expected, the prequel series will not feature Mark Wahlberg or Mila Kunis.

According to MacFarlane's Instagram post, the new series has recently finished production. In the post, MacFarlane showed a picture of Ted viewed through one of the monitors and stated that principal photography on the show had concluded. He then thanked the cast, which included Scott Grimes (American Dad!), Alanna Ubach (Euphoria), Giorgia Whigham (Netflix's Punisher), and Max Burkholder (Parenthood) calling them "brilliant." Burkholder will play John Bennett.
