/teen-titans-live-action-tv-series/Back in September, it was announced that Titans, a live action series based on the popular DC Comics title Teen Titans, was being planned for TNT. Now, DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has offered an update on the show, confirming that the pilot will shoot next year. He also expresses his excitement that Nightwing, who will reportedly lead the show, will finally be seen in live action.

The show will be penned by I Am Legend and A Beautiful Mind screenwriter Akiva Goldsman alongside Marc Haimes, an executive turned writer. The show will focus on former Batman sidekick Robin, as Dick Grayson attempts to emerge from the shadow of his boss Bruce Wayne and become Nightwing, the leader of a fearless band of new superheroes. Other characters are set to include Starfire and Raven.

The Teen Titans celebrated their 50th Anniversary this year. They first appeared in The Brave and the Bold issue #54, and currently appear in a very popular animated series Teen Titans Go! Here are the Tweets from Geoff Johns, which confirm the new series is gearing up for production in the near future.
