After fans yearning for a reunion for years, the pack is finally getting back together. The sequel film of MTV's Teen Wolf, written by Jeff Davis, the executive producer, head writer, and show creator of the original Teen Wolf series, is set to air on Paramount+ and reunite many original cast members.

The supernatural drama series, which fast became an audience favorite, aired for the last time in 2017. However, it appears that the idea for a continuation of the Teen Wolf storyline has always been in the works. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2017, Davis said, "I thought about what kind of series finale fits this show best, and to me, it was, "And the adventure continues …" That's what we wanted to go for. I want to know that Scott and his friends have many more stories to tell. This story isn't over." Now that the idea is finally becoming a reality, fans couldn't be more excited.

The new Teen Wolf movie will feature many familiar faces, including Tyler Posey in his role as Scott McCall. Posey, the original MTV series star, has been campaigning for a Teen Wolf revival for some time. Expressing his excitement with Entertainment Weekly regarding the opportunity to play Scott McCall once again, Posey said, "I'm just excited to play this character again...I miss him, I love him". Posey also expressed his eagerness to witness the storyline progression and development of characters outside a high school setting.

According to a list released by Paramount+ in February 2022, other case members who will be joining Posey are Holland Roden (Lydia Martin), Crystal Reed (Allison Argent), Colton Haynes (Jackson Whittemore), Shelley Hennig (Malia Tate), JR Bourne (Chris Argent), Orny Adams (coach Bobby Finstock), Seth Gilliam (Dr. Alan Deaton), Dylan Sprayberry (Liam Dunbar, Ryan Kelley (Deputy Jordan Parrish), Linden Ashby (Noah Stilinski), and Melissa Ponzio (Melissa McCall).

Fans of the series will recognize that notably absent from the list published are Dylan O'Brien (Stiles Stilinski), Tyler Hoechlin (Derek Hale), and Arden Cho (Kira Yukimura). Fan-favorite O'Brien is reported not to be involved in the revival project due to his commitments to various other movies and busy filming schedule. When asked if he would be willing to participate in a spin-off to Teen Wolf, O'Brien said, "I haven't heard anything about this, but I can guarantee you I probably won't be in it.".

Hoechlin's absence from the cast is presumed to be due to his commitment to the CW show Superman and Lois. However, it is rumored that Hoechlin may be a part of the future list of cast members scheduled to be announced by Paramount+ in due time. On the other hand, Cho has refused to join the reunion because she was being offered only half the salary as her fellow female co-stars.
