Back in May, we reported that WWE Superstar Sheamus had landed the role of Rocksteady in Paramount's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, after the actor was spotted on the New York City set with Gary Anthony Williams as Bebop. We knew for quite some time that both of these characters were going to be included in the sequel, but very little is known about the roles they play. As it turns out, the studio actually sought out former WWE wrestler C.M. Punk for the Rocksteady role, and in a new interview with Chicago Tribune, C.M. Punk reveals a big SPOILER for the sequel. While this has yet to be confirmed, take a look at what he has to say below.

"I just assumed Sheamus is a bigger dude, so they gave it to the big guy. It makes sense. They were looking for two big, muscly bouncer types. Sheamus fits the role. I think they end up getting mutated half way through. You didn't hear that from me, though."

While most fans assumed that Bebop and Rocksteady would mutate into the gigantic warthog and rhinoceros from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' animated TV series, that detail was never confirmed. In the original TV series, Bebop and Rocksteady were thugs in a street gang that Shredder recruited to become mutated, in order to defeat the Ninja Turtles. While the mutation process did make them stronger, they didn't get any smarter, and their attacks on the Turtles were foiled easily.

It isn't known if Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will use this same story line from the animated series, or how they will fit into the story. The action sequel recently wrapped production in New York, with original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Megan Fox (April O'Neil), Will Arnett (Vern Fenwick), William Fichtner (Eric Sacks), Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Noel Fisher (Michelangelo), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo) and Jeremy Howard (Donatello) reprising their roles. New cast members include Stephen Amell as Casey Jones, Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman, Brian Tee as Shredder and Laura Linney in an unspecified role.

Dave Green (Earth to Echo) is directing from a script by André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. Now that post-production is under way, we'll have to wait and see when the first trailer will debut for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, which is set for release on June 6, 2016.
