During the WonderCon panel for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows back in March, it was revealed that Portlandia star/creator Fred Armisen would provide the voice of the iconic villain Krang. The casting took many by surprise, but it turns out that we won't be hearing Fred Armisen voicing Krang after all, when the sequel opens on June 3. A new report reveals that Brad Garrett has stepped in to replace Fred Armisen as the fan-favorite character.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Fred Armisen's casting was never officially confirmed, and he ended up dropping out over scheduling conflicts. It isn't known if the voice actor dropped out recently, or if Brad Garrett has already begun voice work for the sequel, which hits theaters in just a few short weeks. The casting switch may explain why we haven't heard Krang speak yet, even though he has been seen in recent trailers. We'll have to wait and see if the studio releases any footage of Krang speaking as we get closer to the release date.

Krang is just one beloved character from the original comics and animated series that will be featured on the big screen in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. Tyler Perry has come aboard to portray Baxter Stockman, with Gary Anthony Williams and Stephen Farrelly, a.k.a. WWE Superstar Sheamus, playing Bebop and Rocksteady. Perhaps the most anticipated character debut is Stephen Amell's Casey Jones, who was originally portrayed by Elias Koteas in the original 1990 movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Original TMNT stars Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Noel Fisher (Michelangelo), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo) and Jeremy Howard (Donatello) all return to reprise their roles as the Turtles, along with Megan Fox (April O'Neill) and Will Arnett (Vern Fenwick). The cast also includes Brian Tee as Shredder and Brittany Ishibashi as Karai and Laura Linney as a law enforcement officer. The action-packed sequel hits theaters on June 3, going up against Universal's Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping and Warner Bros.' Me Before You.

Brad Garrett most recently starred as Joe Bulo in FX's hit series Fargo, and he has also recently appeared on episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Manhattan. He also lent his voice to Clug in Disney's Planes: Fire & Rescue, along with a number of animated movies and TV shows in the past, such as Tangled, Underdog and Ratatouille, just to name a few. Hopefully we'll get to see new footage soon featuring Krang's new voice in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, so stay tuned for more details.
