Last year's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a bona fide hit at the box office, taking in $191 million domestically and over $485 million worldwide from a $125 million production budget. Fans of the original comics and animated TV show were rather disappointed that a number of fan favorite characters were not present in the original, but that is something the sequel is surely looking to fix. Stephen Amell, Tyler Perry and Gary Anthony Williams have come aboard to star as Casey Jones, Baxter Stockman and BeBop, with Rocksteady also confirmed to be a part of the story, although the character has not been cast yet. Today we have a new report that the villainous Krang will also make his first live action appearance in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.

An unidentified source close to the production revealed that the sequel shot a scene last week involving a number of extras that showed Krang arriving to Earth through a mysterious portal. Krang was created for the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated TV series, hailing from a planet known as Dimension X. After losing his body, Krang surfaced on Earth with his massive fortress known as the Technodrome, which serves as a portal between Dimension X and Earth, where he teamed up with Shredder, who agreed to make a new body for Krang, in exchange for letting Shredder use the Technodrome.

We reported that Dimension X was originally a part of early scripts for last year's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and early concept art featured Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady later showed up online. Still, even though we don't known much about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 story, its possible that those plot points from the early Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles scripts could be carried over for the sequel, or they could be crafting a whole new story for Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady and Dimension X. Of course, Krang's presence in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 has yet to be confirmed, and it isn't known who will voice this villain yet, but what do you think about this popular character appearing in the sequel?
