Earlier this month, Paramount released new footage from this summer's action-packed sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows during the Super Bowl, which gave fans their first look at the villainous Krang. While it isn't known when more footage will debut, Paramount has released four new character posters, featuring the four main heroes, Leonardo (Pete Ploszek), Michelangelo (Noel Fisher), Donatello (Jeremy Howard) and Raphael (Alan Ritchson). Hopefully we'll get even more character posters soon featuring the new characters who will make their big screen debut this summer.
Aside from the villainous Krang, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will introduce a number of iconic characters from the comic books and the original animated TV series. Arrow star Stephen Amell has come aboard to play Casey Jones, with filmmaker/actor Tyler Perry portraying Baxter Stockman. The beloved villains Bebop and Rocksteady will also be featured, portrayed by Gary Anthony Williams and WWE World Heavy Weight Champion Stephen 'Sheamus' Farrelly.
The cast also includes Oscar-nominated actress Laura Linney as Chief Rebecca Vincent, Brian Tee as the nefarious Shredder and Brittany Ishibashi as Karai. A rumor surfaced in August that Bebop & Rocksteady will "mutate" halfway through the movie, but that was never confirmed. These characters debuted in the original TV series, and were thugs in a street gang that Shredder recruited to become mutated, in order to defeat the Ninja Turtles.
Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Megan Fox (April O'Neil), Will Arnett (Vern Fenwick) and William Fichtner (Eric Sacks) are also returning alongside the heroes in a half shell. Dave Green directs from a script by André Nemec and Josh Appelbaum. The screenwriters also wrote last year's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which took in $485 million worldwide from a $125 million budget. Very little is known about the story at this point, although many fans were pleased about the inclusion of fan-favorite characters Casey Jones, Bebop and Rocksteady.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is slated for release on June 3, 2016, putting it up against Universal Pictures' Top Secret Untitled Lonely Island Movie. It's possible that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 could put up even bigger numbers than its predecessor this coming summer, but we'll have to wait and see. Take a look at these new posters for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, and stay tuned for more one-sheets.
