Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has released a motion comic tie-in for the upcoming movie titled Legend of the Yokai. This new 90-second story hints at a mystical background for our heroes Michaelangelo, Donatello, Raphael and Leonardo. Travel back to ancient Japan, where it's hinted that Shredder is one of the demon Yokai monsters from ancient mythology. These creatures are said to have brought fear, slavery and drought to the farms. Four heroes rise to be taught honor, wisdom and ninjutsu, defeating these terrible monsters and restoring peace to the land. Darkness is vanquished, but will rise again in modern day New York this summer.

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wisecracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan.
