Over the weekend, Empire Magazine released new photos for Terminator Genisys, along with the magazine cover featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke. Today, Empire has released four more photos, along with new plot details from Arnold Schwarzenegger himself. If that's not enough, we also have another report which reportedly reveals the mysterious character that Matt Smith is playing. There will be SPOILERS towards the end of this story, regarding Matt Smith's character, so read on at your own risk.

Terminator Genisys follows John Connor (Jason Clarke) as he sends his trusted soldier Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984, to protect his mother Sarah Connor (Emilia Clarke). When Kyle goes back in time, it is not what he expected, with Sarah being protected by an "aging" T-800 Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) as they all go on a new mission to "reset" the future. Here's what Arnold Schwarzenegger had to say about how the story has changed from previous versions of the Terminator franchise.

"The story has changed, so I am like a combination of the characters who you have seen in the past. He is a powerful and potentially evil kind of machine that can be very destructive if I see that there is danger from me or for the victory against the machines. I can switch over to being the protector of Sarah Connor. It depends where we are in this storyline."

The actor added that when he first signed on for the original The Terminator, back in the early 1980s, he had no idea it would become such a huge hit.

"I didn't know when I did the first Terminator that this would become such a popular franchise. But you never know when you do a movie anyway. I mean, some movies, you do a Superman or a Batman, you know the franchise is already there, but with these kind of movies you don't know."

When former Doctor Who star Matt Smith joined the cast, nothing was revealed about his character, although a few rumors have sprouted up here and there as to who he may be playing. Latino Review reveals that there was a recent test screening of the movie at a multiplex in Arizona, with a report coming from that screening that reveals Matt Smith's mystery role. This is your last chance to avoid any spoilers, so read on at your own risk.

Latino Review's source reveals that Matt Smith is playing "the embodiment of Skynet," which is said to be similar to Helena Bonham Carter's character Serena Kogan in 2009's Terminator Salvation. In Terminator Salvation, Skynet merely used Serena Kogan's face to communicate with Sam Worthington's Marcus Wright. However, in this movie, Matt Smith's character is said to be "the given form" of Skynet, the A.I. system that turns against humanity, starts the Future War and creates the Terminator androids.

The site also reports that Terminator Genisys will feature references to every previous Terminator movie. It's worth mentioning that there was a report from October from Meet the Movie Press' Mark Reilly, who claimed he knew the villain and that fans will "hate" the plot twist that "comes out of left field." While it isn't known if this "given form" of Skynet is what he's referring to, since these details have not been confirmed, the October report claimed that this movie may be the "nail in the coffin" for the storied franchise. What do you think about these new details? Are you more excited for Terminator Genisys now than you were before? Or do you hate the idea that Matt Smith may be the Human Embodiment of Skynet? Take a look at the new images from Empire Magazine, and let us know what you think below.
