It seems that the new Terminator franchise is getting a new sound. According to MTV Movies Blog, Danny Elfman has come aboard to compose the score for Terminator Salvation.

The site caught up with Elfman at the Critics Choice Awards and, while he did say that the original theme by Brad Fiedel hasn't been set in place yet, he did say there was a possibility for its inclusion in the film.

"I think if it comes up and it seems appropriate, we will [use it]," Elman said. "And if it doesn't, we [won't]. I never really know what to expect when I begin other than just kind of get into it and have fun. Especially a movie like "T4" - just have fun. So that's what I intend to do."

The composer only had one word to describe the film, after recently seeing a screening of Terminator Salvation: "Exciting."

Terminator Salvation is set for release on May 22.
