Well, it looks like writer/director Damien Leone's sequel to his cult hit killer clown flick Terrifier starring David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown is officially heading our way. The movie just kicked off an IndieGoGo campaign a couple of days ago, and the film has already more than doubled its goal of $50,000 with a current total of $114,837 raised by 673 backers. Better yet is that with Terrifier 2 "adequately" financed, Leone and producer Phil Falcone will now be able to bring one particularly "epic" scene of "mass casualties" and "destruction" to the screen.

Damien Leone says of the scene in question.

"I wrote an EPIC scene in the screenplay for Terrifier 2 that... without spoiling all the juicy, gory details... will involve mass casualties and the destruction of its location, BUT it is the context of the scene that truly makes it so original. We're aiming to create a scene so shocking and iconic that people will talk about it for years to come. Imagine if Art the Clown was in charge of the prom mayhem in Carrie... meets David Lynch... meets Maniac... just sayin'.

Terrifier 2 will tell the tale of Art the Clown being resurrected by a sinister entity and returning to Miles County where he must hunt down and destroy a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night. Needless to say, the siblings must then fight to stay alive and uncover the true nature of Art's evil intent as the body count rises. Moo-Haha. Now I don't know if you're familiar with Art the Clown but if you are a fan of way over-the-top gore and slasher films in general, the original Terrifier is really something that needs to be seen to be believed. There is one kill, in particular, that is so gory it almost made my desensitized ass turn away from the screen in disgust. Almost.

For those of you that might not know, Art the Clown was initially introduced in the Halloween horror anthology All Hallows Eve back in 2013. That anthology told the tale of a babysitter who finds a VHS tape which features various sinister murders performed by a certain psychotic clown. The short films on the VHS tape were actually old movies made by Leone years earlier.

Meanwhile, the original full-fledged Art the Clown movie, Terrifier followed the maniacal clown as he terrorizes three young women and anyone else in his way on Halloween night. The gorefest featured Jenna Kanell, Samantha Scaffidi, Catherine Corcoran, Pooya Mohseni, Matt McAllister, Katie Maguire, and David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown. Damien Leone wrote and directed the first flick which he also produced along with Phil Falcone and George Steuber. The movie featured music by Paul Wiley, cinematography by George Steuber, and editing by Damien Leone. Epic Pictures Group was behind the film which Dread Central Presents released back on March 15, 2018. There isn't currently word on just when Terrifier 2 will be hitting a screen near you, but that said, there are still 39 days left to contribute to the already incredibly successful campaign. This story comes to us via the official Terrifier 2 IndieGoGo campaign.
