Terrifer 3 is officially a go, with writer/director Damien Leone and producer Phil Falcone set to return. The previous installment currently has a 85 percent critical score on Rotten Tomatoes and an 80 audience score. Perhaps more importantly, it was made on a budget of around $250k, went on to gross $15M at the global box office. In light of that, many probably suspected that a sequel was coming, though now we have an official confirmation courtesy of Deadline.

Terrifier 3 will be another boundary-pushing addition to the horror genre, continuing the no holds barred, uncompromising exploits fans of the franchise have come to expect and celebrate. If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in part 2 was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet,” said Leone.

Filming of the new installment is expected to begin in either November or December of this year, with a projected release in late 2024. The Coven, a France-based distribution company, will handle the worldwide sales. Terrifer 3 is also set to receive a much larger budget, in the low to mid-seven figure range, than its predecessors.

“There will be a much bigger budget this time around, which is intended to give the filmmakers more creative freedom and let them be as wild as they can be. And, all jokes aside, we are going for that Oscar this year,” said Priscilla Smith of The Coven.

Smith’s words are in reference to how, last year, Bloody Disgusting submitted Terrifer 2 for an Oscar consideration. No, they didn’t actually think they were going to win. Managing Director Brad Miska admitted as much, but “having members of the Academy endure an extreme unrated horror movie that they would otherwise consider beneath them” was too funny not to do.

While the plot details of the threequel are currently unknown, the second installment left plenty of questions to be explored. During Terrifer 2, franchise villain Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) was resurrected by the Little Pale Girl (Amelie McLain), a sinister entity that looks just like a young girl who mysteriously disappeared before the movie began.

Art ends up doing battle against Sienna Shaw (Lauren LaVera) and her brother Jonathan (Elliot Fullam). For Halloween, Sienna goes as a Valkyrie, which was based on a drawing her father made. The same father who had a whole notebook of sketches and newspaper articles concerning Art. In addition to giving Sienna a special sword.

Spoilers, but the film ends with the survivor of the first movie, Victoria (Samantha Scaffidi), looking up in an insane asylum after seemingly going crazy. While there, she ends up having Art’s severed head burst out of her body, with her one eye all aglow. It makes about as m

What does any of that mean? Well, Terrifier 3 might clear that up. Or not. Not every question in a movie has to be answered. Or some reveals could be saved for part four.
