The survivors of the massacre in the previous movie are back on board another speeding locomotive alongside a murderous psychopath in the new sequel Terror Train 2. The film serves as a follow-up to Terror Train, Tubi's remake of the 80s classic that was released on the free streaming platform in October. Shot in secret, the sequel wasn't announced until November, about one month ahead of its release on Tubi. A new trailer was released days ahead of the premiere, and you can watch it below.

Per Tubi, the sequel's official synopsis reads:

Having survived the carnage, Robyn Alomar (Alana) and Tim Rozon (The Magician) will reprise their characters in TERROR TRAIN 2, which takes place over a year after the gruesome, vengeful murders took the lives of multiple college seniors aboard the now infamous “Terror Train.” In the sequel, the remaining survivors are coerced to take a New Year’s Eve redemption ride on the very same train, where a new evil awaits and the terrified passengers must once again fight to survive the ride.

Graham Ludlow and Kaleigh Kavanagh produced the sequel while Ludlow also executive produced with Shari Segal and Brook Peters.

“Our remake reintroduced a new generation to Terror Train, and now Tubi’s first-ever horror sequel expands on the premise with a completely original storyline," Tubi CCO Adam Lewinson said in a statement. "This new ride aboard the Terror Train begins on New Year’s Eve with ‘Final Girl’ Alana and the mysterious Magician facing a new menace in this horror whodunit.”

Incendo's Brook Peters, an executive producer on the project, added: “Horror-genre franchises have proven time and time again to be some of the most successful film brands. In the sequel, we’re thrilled to offer horror fans a seamless and terrifying continuation of the story that also pays a themed-tribute to the original 1980 cult classic.”

Released in 1980 by director Roger Spottiswoode, the original Terror Train features legendary scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis in one of her earliest roles. It similarly is set on board a moving train on New Year's Eve with a masked killer targeting med school students holding a costume party. The film garnered a cult following but was never given any sequels or follow-up films until Tubi rebooted the franchise this year.

Terror Train 2 will premiere on Tubi on Dec. 31, 2022. Meanwhile, you can also stream the remake released in October as well as the original Terror Train starring Jamie Lee Curtis, which is currently available on the free streaming platform. Watch them on the Tubi app or at Tubi.tv.
