Actor Terry Crews is excited to be officially joining The Walking Dead universe. AMC Networks recently made the official announcement that the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star will appear in the upcoming spin-off series titled Tales of the Walking Dead. Terry Crews will also star alongside fellow franchise newcomers Anthony Edwards (Top Gun, Zodiac), Poppy Liu (iCarly, Hacks), Jillian Bell (Godmothered, Rough Night), and Parker Posey (Lost in Space, Blade: Trinity). On the small screen, he starred in the sitcom Are We There Yet?, the reality series The Family Crews, and has also hosted numerous episodes of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Ultimate Beastmaster, and America's Got Talent and its spin-offs for NBC, including the upcoming AGT: Extreme. Terry Crews' casting announcement, along with the other stars mentioned above, is just the very first wave of talent that is set to appear in Tales of the Walking Dead.

Tales of the Walking Dead, Explained

Tales of the Walking Dead is an upcoming television series that will take place in The Walking Dead universe. The forthcoming series will be an episodic anthology that will follow individual characters from The Walking Dead universe, both new and old. Filming for the series began last month in Buford, Georgia. Michael Satrazemis is set to direct the series premiere, as well as two other episodes in the first season. Haifaa al-Mansour, Deborah Kampmeier, and Tara Nicole Weyr are also directing the remaining three episodes, respectively. It has been confirmed that the first season of Tales of the Walking Dead will consist of a total of six episodes.

Tales of the Walking Dead is the third spin-off series of The Walking Dead television series, after Fear The Walking Dead, and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. Writer and Producer Scott Gimple stated that it's possible that one episode will feature the entire plane crash sequence from World Beyond's pilot episode. He also hinted that Fear The Walking Dead's Madison Clark will possibly appear in an episode. Actress Sonequa Martin-Green, who portrayed Sasha Williams, had expressed her interest to return for an episode. With no confirmed release date at this time, it has been revealed that Tales of the Walking Dead will arrive on both AMC and AMC+ sometime in Summer 2022.
