After debuting in limited release this summer, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment brought Testament of Youth home on Blu-ray and DVD earlier this week. In case you haven't had the chance to pick up this critically acclaimed drama yet, we have an exclusive clip featuring Alicia Vikander. The actress stars as World War I nurse Vera Brittain, whose best-selling memoir serves as the basis for this critically-acclaimed drama.

Testament of Youth is told through the eyes of Vera (Alicia Vikander), a youthful feminist, free-minded and irrepressible, whose intense romance with Roland Leighton (Kit Harington) is interrupted by the war. The film follows her wartime experiences, which moved her to write one of the most defining memoirs of her time. The film only earned $1.8 million during its theatrical run, but it was only released in just over 100 theaters. Now that the Blu-ray and DVD has arrived, fans all over the country can experience this beloved drama for themselves.

Intelligent and free-spirited Vera overcomes the narrow-mindedness of her conservative parents, winning a scholarship to Oxford. Entranced by her brother's dashing friend Roland, who shares her literary aspirations, she plunges into an intoxicating romance. Blooming, in love and on the cusp of fulfilling her ambitions, Vera's dreams are brutally shattered by the onset of war. When Roland and her brother ship out to the front, she abandons the cloistered environs of university life and volunteers as a nurse. Immediately confronted with the pitiless reality of the war's victims, her life is irrevocably changed as she loses, one-by-one, the young men she held so dear.

Testament of Youth also stars Taron Egerton, Emily Watson, Hayley Atwell and Colin Morgan with Golden Globe nominee Dominic West and Academy Award nominee Miranda Richardson. Bonus features include deleted scenes, a making-of featurette and commentary with Kit Harington and director James Kent. The film was well-received by critics during its theatrical run, scoring an impressive 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Aside from Testament of Youth, Alicia Vikander is having a breakout year on the big screen. She also starred in Seventh Son, the critically-acclaimed Ex Machina and The Man from U.N.C.L.E., along with upcoming dramas Burnt and The Danish Girl, which is already getting plenty of Oscar buzz.
