Just months after Seth M. Sherwood signed on to write the Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface, Millennium Films is bringing on French filmmakers Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo to take the helm.

The story will focus on the teenage years of the iconic title character, although no other story details have been confirmed. Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo reportedly beat out another directing team, Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, the filmmakers behind the upcoming Starry Eyes.

Carl Mazzocone (Texas Chainsaw 3D), Christa Campbell (Stonehearst Asylum) and Lati Grobman (The Iceman) are producing for Lionsgate and Millennium Films, although it isn't known when production may begin.

Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo were previously in contention to direct the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake at New Line Cinema. Their French films include Inside, Livid, The Theatre Bizarre 2: Grand Guignol and Paris I'll Kill You. They also directed a segment of the upcoming horror anthology sequel ABCs of Death 2.
