The 1974 horror movie classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has been terrifying fans for more than four decades. Those looking for a new way to experience this classic may be in luck soon. Last year, Ohio businessman Roy Rose bought the Last Chance Gas Station, which served as the fictional Gulf Oil gas station and BBQ restaurant in the movie. The businessman is planning to turn this rundown gas station into a hororr-themed BBQ restaurant. And he recently shared some progress on the restaurant's new Facebook page, along with the following message.

"We are restoring the Smoker House saved as much original wood as possible, added some from another barn that had fallen down...Put concrete underneath ... This time The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Gas Station is being restored in a correct manor.....LOOKS AWESOME......Let me tell ya chainsaw fans...."

According to The Guardian, Roy Rose bought the property at 1073 Highway 304 in Bastrop, Texas because he was a huge fan of the original movie, which he saw for the first time at the age of 10. The investor even has another partner who is steeped in horror lore, Ari Lehman, who played the first Jason Voorhees in the 1980 classic Friday the 13th. The investors both have big plans for the property, which will be much more than just a restaurant. Here's what Roy Rose had to say in a radio interview from last year.

"We're going to build a 'horror barbecue resort', we're going to put cabins in the back for all the fans that want to come and stay the night."

Along with the restaurant and four cabins, Roy Rose and Ari Lehman plan on building a merchandise store, an entertainment area for gigs and a big screen to show The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The restaurant's Facebook reveals that they plan on opening in mid-July, but an exact date hasn't been set yet. It isn't known if they plan on bringing in any of the original stars of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the grand opening, or director Tobe Hooper.

The horror franchise has been revived a number of times on the big screen, most recently with 2013's Texas Chainsaw 3D starring Alexandra Daddario. There is also a Leatherface movie that will provide an origin story for the title character, which is set for release later this year.
