Sony's superhero sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be heading to Rochester, New York for a two-week shoot in early May. We reported last month that the production would spend some time in the upstate New York city for a chase sequence, because Rochester's speed laws are not as restrictive as New York City.

The production plans on using the city's Main Street as a backdrop, including the County Office Building. No details were given as to what this chase scene may include, or how it fits into the overall story. City government officials would not confirm the exact dates of the shoot, or how production will affect the area.

Marc Webb is directing this follow-up to last year's The Amazing Spider-Man, with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone reprising their roles as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Gwen Stacy. New cast members include Jamie Foxx (Electro), Shailene Woodley (Mary Jane Watson), Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborn), and Paul Giamatti (The Rhino).
