Aran Shetterly's book The Americano: Fighting for Freedom in Castro's Cuba, an Untold Story is going to be turned into a movie by New Line Cinema. According to Variety, Robert Schwentke is set to direct the biopic.

The novel revolves around William Morgan. He became a key figure in the Cuban revolution in the late 1950s. He was executed after he double-crossed Fidel Castro. The film will follow his work in Cuba fighting with the Tigers of the Jungle, a military unit that he commanded.

Mark Bailey is writing the script. The film doesn't have a set start date at this time.
