Federico Andahazi's controversial comic novel The Anatomist is getting the big screen treatment. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Steindorff's Stone Village Pictures will be producing the project.

The comic is based on the true story of a 16th century surgeon who discovered the clitoris. The book caused a bit of controversy in Andahazi native country of Argentina. In 1997 he won the prestigious Fortabat Foundation award for best first novel by an Argentine. Later, Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat rescinded the award when she learned about the subject matter.

There was no word on when the project would go before the camera.
