Parks and Rec star Aubrey Plaza is down for playing Catwoman in The Batman, and even went so far as to "audition" for Stephen Colbert. On The Late Show, Plaza appeared as a guest to promote Child's Play, but it wasn't long before the discussion turned to Catwoman.

During the interview, Colbert notes how Aubrey Plaza has expressed her interest in playing Selina Kyle in a movie in other interviews, then mentioning how The Batman just might be looking to cast that character. While Plaza says there's "no way in hell" they would ever cast her for the part, Colbert insists the actress wear cat ears and audition for it anyway. She obliges, but it's not so much a genuine audition for Catwoman as it is Plaza behaving like an actual cat; she bats a cat toy, drinks from a water dish, and even crawls on Colbert's desk to lick his cheek.

To be clear, the only name confirmed for The Batman at this point is Twilight star Robert Pattinson. The Penguin is rumored to be an antagonist, and Josh Gad (Frozen) has been publicly campaigning for the part for a long time. Recently, Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) said he would accept the role of Bane if offered, after a fan suggested it to him on Twitter. There's clearly no shortage of Hollywood talent hoping to be a part of the upcoming superhero flick from Reeves, but one movie can only use so many villains. It would seem that this fan speculation will continue until the rest of the cast is officially confirmed.

Another popular rumor concerning the cast of The Batman has recently been making the rounds, which has generated a lot of discussion. Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin's name has been thrown into the mix as a possible candidate to play the Joker. At this point, the concept is nothing more than a rumor, as it has not been confirmed if Joker will even appear in the movie. However, many fans have been very vocal on social media about accepting Culkin as the Clown Prince of Crime, with some going so far as to make pretty convincing fan art imagining the former child star in the role.

There's no indication right now we'll be seeing Plaza in any DC movies, but we are just days away from her next theatrical performance. The actress will be leading the cast in the Child's Play reboot as Karen Barclay, a single mother who inadvertently gifts her young son with a homicidal doll. Gabriel Batemen (Lights Out) and Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) also star as Karen's son Andy and Detective Mike Norris, respectively. Star Wars legend Mark Hamill is also on board as the voice of the new Chucky.

Because The Batman won't be arriving until 2021, this gives fans plenty of time to speculate which villains will be appearing in the movie. Whoever doesn't show up in the movie can always come in for a sequel if the box office performance is impressive enough. As for Plaza, time will tell if she ever lands that dream role of playing Catwoman in a movie, but if you ask me, I would be completely on board with seeing it happen.
