All eyes are currently on who will become our next big screen Batman and, should we consider former Twilight star Robert Pattinson? Many may cringe at the mere thought, but it may not be as absurd as it sounds. And some new fan art that has surfaced online provides a very convincing case. The era of Ben Affleck as The Batman is over, as un-glorious as it all may have been. It's time for someone else to snatch up a big opportunity and maybe, just maybe, Pattinson should be that guy.

Artist BossLogic, who very regularly does renditions of various actors in rumored or newly cast roles, recently decided to take it upon himself to show us what Robert Pattinson would look like as Batman. Or Bruce Wayne, rather. The actor is standing against a wall, cleaned up and polished in a fancy suit, with his shadow taking the form of his alter ego's silhouette. Thoughts on this choice will surely vary wildly, but he definitely looks the part. BossLogic had this to say about it in his caption.

"A choice that I never would have thought to try but been hearing some background chatter about Robert Pattinson being looked at, if the talks (source) are true then all of our predictions were wrong This might be your new Bruce #thebatman #batman">

Are these rumors he speaks of in any way legitimate? Or is this just some fan casting that has taken on a life of its own over the course of the last week? Whatever the case may be, this is not something that would be difficult to picture, when looking at what Warner Bros. is looking for and what Matt Reeves, who will direct what is tentatively titled The Batman, is looking for.

Let's start with the very basic; if the man hit the gym just a bit to bulk up, he could certainly have the look. Robert Pattinson is currently 32-years-old. We've been hearing for some time that the idea is to go younger than Batfleck. That would qualify. Acting wise? Sure, many out there will still associate him with Twilight, but in the years since, Pattinson has done some truly incredible work and has asserted himself as a damn fine actor. The Rover, The Lost City of Z and Good Time, just to name a few, have made it very clear that he's got the chops. No question.

Really, at this point, all we can do is speculate and ponder rumors/fan castings such as these until an actual frontrunner emerges. And no, Nick Jonas offering to play the part (which also isn't as silly as it sounds on the surface) doesn't quite count as him being the frontrunner. The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021. Be sure to check out the art from BossLogic's Twitter account below.
