As we learned in October, Zoe Kravitz is Catwoman in The Batman. Today, Zoe Kravitz has posted a photo of her new haircut on Instagram, suggesting our next big screen version of Selina Kyle will have shorter hair.

Previously, it had been reported Kravitz had signed on to star in the project as Catwoman and all the former Catwoman showed their support for this casting decision. With production set to begin early next year, the actress appears to now be getting into character.

The short-haired depiction of the character is consistent to how we've seen Catwoman in a variety of DC comic books, video games, and other projects, and the look certainly looks great on Kravitz. You can take a look at her brand new hairdo below.

This new look is also reminiscent of Halle Berry's take on the character in the 2004 movie Catwoman. While based on the DC character, the movie was a standalone film without Batman or any other comic book characters. At this time, Catwoman is the only solo movie about the iconic character to be released, but that could change if The Batman finds great success at the box office. Recently, it was revealed several key cast members from the movie have contract options for solo movies, meaning there's a chance Kravitz could one day lead her own Catwoman film. If so, let's just hope it turns out better than Berry's movie.

For what it's worth, Berry has given Zoë Kravitz her full support with her new role as Selina Kyle. "Special shout-out to your new Catwoman, the eternally graceful & extremely bad ass Zoë Kravitz," Berry wrote on Twitter following the casting announcement. Similarly, two other big screen Catwomen have also given Kravitz their blessings. The Dark Knight Rises star Anne Hathaway congratulated Kravitz for "landing the role of a lifetime," while Batman Returns actress Michelle Pfeiffer offered her the sound advice of making sure the costume's designer allows for the suit to have restroom access.

Kravitz is one of many talents to be officially confirmed for The Batman at this point ahead of the production's start date in early 2020. Of course, The Lighthouse star Robert Pattinson will be leading the cast as our new big screen version of Bruce Wayne, and Andy Serkis will be playing his butler Alfred Pennyworth. For the villains, Kravitz will be joined by Paul Dano as The Riddler and John Turturro as crime boss Carmine Falcone, and Colin Farrell is also reported to be in talks to play Oswald "Penguin" Cobblepot. Westworld actor Jeffrey Wright is also on board as the new Commissioner James Gordon and newcomer Jayme Lawson has also been cast in an unknown role.

The Batman will arrive in theaters on June 25, 2021. If the movie is as big of a hit as Warner Bros. is hoping for, then chances are, we'll be seeing much more of Kravitz to follow in more DC movies to come. With clear talent as an actress and a great look for the Selina Kyle role, Kravitz has a lot of potential to make her turn as Catwoman stand out as something truly great.
