Tons of new footage of The Batman has just arrived in an all-new trailer for the anticipated film. Starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne and Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle, the new trailer has as heavy focus on the budding relationship between "the bat and the cat." Are Batman and Catwoman friends, or are they foes? Will they be putting aside whatever differences they have to take on the sinister serial killer known as the Riddler? Check out the new trailer for yourself below.

Kravitz has previously described this film as an "origin story" for Catwoman, but it's clear from this new trailer she's very close to adopting her alter ego. Batman visits her apartment at one point, noticing several stray cats which have become Selina's roommates. In addition to making her love for kitties apparent, she's highly skilled as a cat burglar and can even hold her own physically in a confrontation with Batman. All that we're missing is the actual Catwoman suit along with having Selina using the moniker.

We also are shown more of Paul Dano's Riddler terrorizing Gotham City in the new trailer. Taking a page from the Zodiac Killer, this version of the Riddler is a masked serial killer who leaves behind puzzles for Batman to solve at the crime scenes. There's plenty of the Riddler taunting Batman in the new footage, and while he might be proud of himself at that point, chances are he's going to feel the full wrath of "vengeance" once our Bruce finally tracks down the cunning murderer.

Other teases of different characters can also be seen. This includes Alfred Pennyworth, played by Andy Serkis, who's been hiding some secrets from Bruce about his family. Other cast members as a part of the ensemble include Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin. It has been confirmed that Barry Keoghan will also be appearing, and there are rumors he could be playing this standalone story's version of the Joker.

Matt Reeves directs The Batman using a screenplay co-written with Peter Craig. The film is set in a standalone universe unconnected to the DCEU, reimagining the story of Batman with a new actor. There are early plans to develop at least two sequels to The Batman and Robert Pattinson has already been thinking of ideas on where this story could go next. In The Batman, the story picks up about two years after Bruce Wayne has become Batman, meaning we're past the murders of the Wayne parents but still early into the rookie crime-fighter's career.

The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4, 2022. This follows some major delays and a long production, so the wait has been rough. Given the positive response to the sneak peeks and the trailers, however, the odds are good that this film will be a hit as Warner Bros. is anticipating. On the 46th day after its theatrical premiere, the movie will also be made available for streaming on HBO Max. Find out more about the film at TheBatman.com.
