The latest trailer for Harmony Korine's The Beach Bum is incredibly NSFW. Matthew McConaughey stars as Moondog, a middle-aged stoner and poet who seemingly gets to do whatever he wants, which includes a lot of partying. Korine is back behind the camera for the first time since 2012's Spring Breakers, which he also wrote. He is stepping up his game in the weirdness department, making what looks like an impressive addition to his collection of off-kilter movies.

The Beach Bum follows the outrageous misadventures of Matthew McConaughey as Moondog, who is described as a rebellious burnout who only knows how to live life by his own terms. The Red Band trailer certainly hints at that and even more. Moonbeam wants to "swallow up the world" in his latest poem and then we see a shot of McConaughey's butt in a purple thong as he steps out of a hot tub. From there, things only get stranger. Jonah Hill also stars in the movie with a pretty interesting accent.

The Beach Bum stars Martin Lawrence, who can be seen feeding cocaine to his pet parrot while Matthew McConaughey's Moondog steps on to a plane with a pilot who can barely see and is seen smoking a massive joint while flying. For those who are wondering, it's okay because the pilot was recommended by Snoop Dogg, who also stars in the movie. In addition to McConaughey, Lawrence, Snoop, and Jonah Hill, The Beach Bum stars Isla Fisher, Zac Efron, and musician Jimmy Buffett, which seems almost too perfect for the world that Moondog lives in.

Harmony Korine likes to take well-known actors and play with their real-life personas on the big screen. He did that in Spring Breakers with Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Benson and he says that he has done it again with Matthew McConaughey. Many have joked that The Beach Bum looks like McConaughey is just playing himself, but that obviously isn't the case. Korine had this to say about working with McConaughey.

"I always like playing with the real actor persona, the pop persona, what's authentic to the person, and then push it out to the stratosphere. He plays with the idea of what people imagine him to be, and kind of takes it into another radical direction."

The Beach Bum has an all-star cast, but it also stars a lot of Florida residents who ended up as extras in the huge party scenes. But out of everybody, Harmony Korine was most excited to get Martin Lawrence on board as Captain Wack. The director calls Lawrence a "comic genius." As with most of his projects, The Beach Bum looks like one thing, but the director promises that this will be very unorthodox, which already sounds promising.
