The Bob’s Burgers Movie is an animated musical comedy-mystery-adventure following the Belcher family as they deal with a sinkhole formed from a ruptured water main in front of their family restaurant, Bob’s Burgers. Together, the family must endure and struggle in order to keep their business alive.

Coming in as certified fresh with a score of 87% on Rotten Tomatoes, critics have lauded the movie for its heart, laughs, welcomeness to newcomers (those who haven’t seen the Emmy award-winning series on which it’s based), and cleverness. “The Bob’s Burger’s Movie had this neophyte laughing out loud more often than not. I profess to not seeing a second of the television series before the film. Walking in cold was a pleasant surprise. The wicked double entendres and sharp dialogue kept the humor flowing like a faucet. The musical numbers got old fast but thankfully didn’t detract too much from a swift plot. Fans of the show will not be disappointed,” said our critic, Julian Roman.

The Bob’s Burgers Movie was released theatrically on May 27, 2022, and will now be released on digital on July 12, 2022, and on Blu-ray and DVD on July 19. In celebration, we have an exclusive deleted scene to premiere. “This whole wharf has been built and rebuilt more than you can burn a wharf, which is a lot,” begins the clip, then divulging into the history of the “Pleasure Pier.” An onslaught of explanations on destroyed piers ensues, with a name for each replacement following. Exclusive Deleted Scene from The Bob’s Burgers Movie

The Bob’s Burgers Movie stars the voices of H. Jon Benjamin (Bob Belcher), Kristen Schaal (Louise Belcher), Dan Mintz (Tina Belcher), John Roberts (Linda Belcher), Eugene Mirman (Gene Belcher), David Wain (Grover Fischoeder), Zach Galifinakis (Felix Fischoeder), Kevin Kline (Calvin Fischoeder), Larry Murphy (Teddy), and more. It’s directed by Loren Bouchard and Bernard Derriman. Bouchard also served as a writer of the screenplay alongside Nora Smith.

In an interview with Variety, Bouchard outlined some driving points of the film. “We really wanted to go at the question, what does it look like when they face the possible failure of the restaurant? What if you actually hear bob say, ‘We’re not gonna make it?’ What does that look like? And we treated it as real as possible. So we raised the stakes in terms of this murder mystery and there’s life and death stakes, but there’s also the possibility that this restaurant might fail for real.”

Now that The Bob’s Burgers Movie has been released, we have an answer to what happens when they face the possible failure of the restaurant: 20th Century Studios grosses $31 million in the US.
