It's very good to be Bourne these days.

The Bourne Ultimatum has eclipsed both of the first movies in this series for DVD sales, selling 5.4 million units in the DVD's first six days since it's December 11 release. That figure solidifies the Bourne series as being the only trilogy of 2007 to have increasing box office grosses and DVD sales for each movie.

"Film trilogies typically have their ups and downs as audience interest waxes and wanes," said Craig Kornblau, President, Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Universal Pictures Digital Platforms. "The astonishing upward trend in both theatrical ticket sales and DVD sales is a testament to the enduring appeal of the Bourne franchise and marks a stellar opening to the holiday shopping season."

The Bourne Supremacy, the second film in the series, sold 5 million units in its first six days, and The Bourne Identity sold 3 million units. The series began with 2002's The Bourne Identity which took in $122 million theatrically and was bested by 2004's The Bourne Supremacy with $176 million which was bested by this summer's The Bourne Ultimatum which grossed $227 million at the box office.
