Prime Video's superhero satire series The Boys had a presence at the Critics' Choice Awards. For his performance as the dastardly Homelander, actor Antony Starr up for Best Actor in a Drama Series, marking the only nomination for the show. While Starr didn't get the award, ultimately losing out to Bob Odenkirk of Better Call Saul, the actor took to social media to post a video expressing his gratitude for having The Boys get some recognition at the event with his nomination. The video was shared by The Boys on Twitter.

"I just wanted to say thank you," Starr says in the video, shared by the official account for The Boys. " Thank you so much for having me here. It's a crazy little show that we make, so I feel like I'm in the wrong place. This is very mainstream place for a character like Homelander to be acknowledged."

He added, "But, it's great to be here, and we would never be anywhere like this without the fans who we all love, but I love especially. Thank you guys."

Additional posts from The Boys reveal Starr flashing the bird as well as reuniting with Giancarlo Esposito, who play Stan Edgar in the series. Esposito won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Better Call Saul.

Previously, Starr won at the Critics' Choice Super Awards in 2021, taking wins for Best Actor in a Superhero Series and Best Villain in a Series. His Homelander role also earned him a Best Actor nomination at the Saturn Awards last year, where The Boys won Best Streaming Action/Adventure Series. The show had a presence at the Primetime Emmy Awards in 2021 when it was nominated for Best Drama Series along with an additional Best Writing nod.
