Kevin Heffernan has decided to direct the latest effort by the iconic Broken Lizard comedy troupe. According to Variety, the film is entitled The Slammin' Salmon.
All of the Lizards are set to return. They include Jay Chandrasekhar, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske. The script has yet to be written, but the plot revolves around a former heavyweight boxer turned restaurant owner that pits his wait staff against each other. It is said to be a lot like Glengarry Glen Ross, only funny.
While the troupe has a deal with Warner Brothers, the gang raised the money themselves in order to get the project off the ground before the potential strike happens. Heffernan stated, "We wanted to go back to our independent roots and get a project off the ground and into production quickly."
Filming will start in January for a late fall release date.
