Terror Films has released the official trailer for The Burial. Set to hit digital outlets on March 3, 2023, the film is described as a "captivating mesh of A Simple Plan and Cabin in the Woods," featuring nail-biting horror elements blended with elements of dark humor. Ahead of its release in early March, you can get your sneak peek now at what the film is like by watching the new trailer below.

Michael Escalante directs The Burial, making his directorial debut; the filmmaker had gotten into the business by interning at Roger Corman's New Horizons Pictures while earning a Bachelor's in English at UCLA. Escalante has also spoken about what the goal was with his feature debut.

“I’ve been in love with horror from the moment I finally found the bravery to watch the movies behind the DVD covers that scared me as a kid walking through rental stores," he says. "The sense of mystery and tension that fills your mind before you press play is intoxicating. However, what I found so compelling about the horror movies I grew up on focused less on the monster or villain at hand, but with how the ordinary people who found themselves in extraordinary situations reacted to them."

He adds that his goal with The Burial was to "establish a relatable sense of drama and tension between two estranged brothers even before blood starts being spilled. Horror is often built upon lies and deceit and how these actions can snowball into increasingly dire situations. Most importantly though, the real connection lies between the audience and their relationship to the characters at hand. We love to see our heroes triumph, but we also love to see them brought to their breaking point, both physically and mentally. That inherent tension is what The Burial is built on as we see our characters make increasingly poor decisions, despite doing their best to navigate a life and death situation."
