On Sunday, September 9th, The Challenge returns for its second season, expanding from a half-hour to an hour. The show, hosted by NBC4's Fred Roggin, will air immediately following NBC4's broadcast of Sunday Night Football. The Challenge is a unique combination of NFL Analysis, Guest interviews, entertainment and a real-time competition. Viewers can compete online or by cell phone in real-time over the sixteen week run of the show for valuable weekly, quarterly and grand prizes. To enter the competition, viewers must register at www.knbc.com/thechallenge.

"Expanding to an hour allows us more opportunities and more ways to give prizes away. We've added the Petros Papadakis as our NFL analyst, and each week we will be going live to the site of the NBC NFL game to talk with players from Southern California who are involved in the outcome. We've also expanded the fantasy football portion of the program. Dish Adams is back with his insight and viewers can now register to play Fantasy Football on our Website and win $5,000," said Roggin.

Roggin's signature humor with his Hall of Shame and Roggin's Heroes segments will also be back on The Challenge.

During each show, viewers will be asked sports-related questions. By simply answering seven of eight questions, either right or wrong, registered viewers can win a 42" Vizio LCD HDTV in a random drawing held each Sunday. The top 10 weekly winners will win a pair of event tickets provided by Barry's Tickets and quarterly prize winners will receive a pair of American Airlines tickets to anywhere within the Continental United States and Canada. Players who compete over the sixteen week run of the program can win one of a number of Grand Prizes, including a car from Saturn, a trip to Hong Kong, a Vespa scooter and Adidas sporting equipment. Another new element this season is "Rapid Fire," a separate contest where participants compete live either on-location or in the studio to win prizes.
