Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo has stepped away from The Crow remake for Relativity Media. It isn't clear why the director has departed from the project. We reported last month that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo may take over Highlander for Universal, but it seems that is not a factor in why the filmmaker left The Crow. It is also said that F. Javier Gutierrez is being considered to replace Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

We reported back in April that Juan Carlos Fresnadillo signed on to direct The Crow, but the project has been plagued with problems since then. Star Bradley Cooper walked away from the project last month to star in Paradise Lost, and we reported that The Weinstein Company filed a lawsuit against Relativity Media over distribution rights. No replacement has been found yet for Bradley Cooper, although we reported in August that Relativity is considering Channing Tatum and Mark Wahlberg.
