We've been hearing about The Current War since as far back as 2014. The first trailer arrived almost two years ago, in the fall of 2017. And then the movie mysteriously dropped off the face of they planet. Now it's back, with newly formed 101 Studios picking it up for release this October. Today, we have a brand new trailer, which features Benedict Cumberbatch as Thomas Edison as he attempts to light up the world.

The Current War is based on the epic story of Thomas Edison (Benedict Cumberbatch), George Westinghouse (Michael Shannon) and Nikola Tesla (Nicholas Hoult), three brilliant visionaries in a cutthroat competition to bring electricity to the masses. The film follows Edison, whose plans of bringing light to Manhattan are upended when Westinghouse and Tesla announce they have a superior idea for how to rapidly electrify America, sparking one of the first and greatest corporate feuds in U.S. history.
