The CW has moved pushed forward with production on the new half-hour comedy Aliens in America.

Variety says the sit-com is about a Muslim foreign exchange student who moves in with a Wisconsin family. NBC was the first network to have a crack at the show, but they passed; their parent company NBC Universal Television is the production company behind it. The CW picked it up as a companion for the soon-to-be-former UPN show Everybody Hates Chris.

Aliens in America is written by Moses Port and David Guarascio, the same people who created Just Shoot Me. Production will begin in June and is set as a midseason replacement.
