Quantum Leap - Season 4

In doing his research, scientist Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) finds himself trapped in time--"leaping" into the body of a different person in a different time period each episode. Realizing with his knowledge of the past and present he can right certain wrongs, Beckett is helped in his travels by Al (Dean Stockwell), a holographic image only he can see and hear. As Beckett leaps around from place to place, his main goal is that the next "leap" will bring him back to his own life.
