Gary Oldman has been everywhere in support of his upcoming role in the werewolf revisionist romance thriller Red Riding Hood, and he has dropped many subtle hints about his turn as Jim Gordon in next summer's The Dark Knight Rises.

Today, he has released some of the most provocative information thus far. This isn't your standard "I love the script, it's fantastic" news bite.

Gary Oldman has let it slip that there is going to be an old school vintage villain in The Dark Knight Rises that we haven't heard mention of yet. Here's what he had to say.

"I think it's a villain from one of the old, old, from way back from the old comics. It is a Batman villian...It's not going to be the Joker. If I told you who the villain was, they'd kill me."

He then went onto discuss Anne Hathaway's turn as Catwoman.
