We /the-dark-knight-rises-chooses-detroit-shoot-over-chicago/know that Christopher Nolan is set to shoot his upcoming trilogy-ending sequel The Dark Knight Rises on location in Los Angeles, the UK, and possibly Detroit. Now, Romanian officials have confirmed that the director has been scouting locations in Bucharest, Romania, as well.

Nolan and the film's producers have met with city officials to discuss technical issues. The director has eyed Bucharest's historical center, Edgar Quinet Street, and the Palace of Parliament as possible shooting locations. Nolan has also visited the Turda salt mines in northwestern Romania with hopes of shooting there.

The mayor of Turda called Nolan's visit "unofficial", but confirmed that the director's stay did involve scouting for the future project.
