Backstage has updated its Los Angeles production listings, and they have included news on some highly anticipated upcoming superhero movies. The biggest piece of info reports that The Dark Knight Rises is officially set to begin principle photography this April in New Orleans. It was /batman-3-to-shoot-in-new-orleans/reported in August that Warner Bros. wanted to shoot the sequel in Louisiana to take advantage of the monumental tax incentives the state was offering director Christopher Nolan.
Joss Whedon's massive Marvel ensemble The Avengers will officially begin shooting in February, presumable in the Los Angeles area. Marvel Studios other big franchise Spider-Man will go before cameras this December. The title attached to the movie is currently Spider-Man 2.0, but that has in no way been verified as an official title for the reboot.
It was /mad-max-fury-road-delayed-until-2012/reported back in early October that production on Mad Max: Fury Road had been delayed until February of 2012. Backstage now lists that the George Miller directed action sequel/reboot will actually begin shooting this coming summer of 2011.
