Get ready to laugh and laugh...

The moon will shine brightly over Parma when Warner Home Video (WHV) releases the first season of The Drew Carey Show on DVD April 24, 2007. The Drew Carey Show: The Complete First Season, a four-disc collector's set, will include all 22 episodes of the series' premiere season, as well as a retrospective documentary and gag reel. The set will retail for $39.98.

One of TV's longest running comedies, The Drew Carey Show is a fast-paced half-hour series, which depicts life through the eyes of comedian Drew Carey and his life-long gang of Cleveland friends. Set in Cleveland, Ohio, the show is known for its everyman characters and themes. Drew Carey (portrayed by comedian Drew Carey) is a lovable underachiever and perpetual "nice guy" who's been stuck at his dead-end job as assistant director of personnel at Cleveland's Winfred-Louder department store for 10 years. Other than fighting with Mimi Bobeck (Kathy Kinney), his cosmetics challenged co-worker from hell, his hobbies include drinking and brewing beer. Although he may be an average guy with an underwhelming job and unfulfilled dreams, he's fortunate to have the support of a great group of friends, which include Oswald (Diedrich Bader), Kate (Christa Miller) and Lewis (Ryan Stiles). In a world where everybody meets jobs instead of careers, lumpy bods instead of supermodel sleek and Cleveland instead of Manhattan, The Drew Carey Show reminds us to look for the humor in everyday life.

"The Drew Carey Show was successful for a number of reasons. It was clever in the way it presented everyday life, accurately portraying the plight of the average person trying to find love and success in today's world. It introduced us to Drew Carey's brilliant sense of comedic timing and also gave us a group of endearing and down to earth characters who kept audiences laughing for many years," commented Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV Marketing. She added, "Undoubtedly, The Drew Carey Show is one of television's most popular comedies. We are certain it will be well-received by consumers when it becomes available on DVD."

Created by Drew Carey and Bruce Helford, The Drew Carey Show originally aired on ABC from September 13, 1995 to September 8, 2004 and delivered strong ratings as well as high viewer-ship numbers over the entire course of its run.
