A full-on reunion of The Evil Dead will be a part of Evil Dead: The Game. Set for a release on PC and consoles in February, the upcoming video game lets players work together to take on the Deadites. Leading the way is Bruce Campbell lending his voice to Ash Williams and giving fans the opportunity to dish out the pain with the Boomstick firsthand.

Additionally, there are other characters being brought into the game from throughout the franchise. With the original actors lending their voices and likenesses, more names have been revealed for the cast of Evil Dead: The Game. On Twitter, the developers have confirmed that the game reunites the cast of The Evil Dead, which includes making Bruce Campbell as Ash, Hal Delrich as Scotty, and Ellen Sandweiss as Cheryl return as playable survivors. Also making special appearances are Betsy Baker as Linda and Theresa Tilly as Shelly.

Other casting announcements have revealed franchise favorites from elsewhere in the series that are also joining the fray. Marcus Gilbert's Arthur from Army of Darkness will be a playable survivor, adding some medieval flavor to the mix. Ash vs. Evil Dead fans will also be happy to see the returns of Ray Santiago as Pablo Simon Bolivar and Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell. It's not quite the same as a fourth season of Ash vs. Evil Dead, but it's certainly exciting to see the Ghost-Beaters back together again.

"I would do the old guy," Bruce Campbell recently said of which Ash he'd play as. "He's got all the experience. The young guy doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. But that's the cool thing about the game. You can play other characters, you can play possessed Ash. So, it really is, whatever your mood is when you play."

The logline for the game reads: "Step into the shoes of Ash Williams or his friends from the iconic Evil Dead franchise and work together in a game loaded with over-the-top co-op and PVP multiplayer action! Play as a team of four survivors, exploring, looting, managing your fear, and finding key items to seal the breach between worlds in a game inspired by all three original Evil Dead films as well as the Starz original Ash vs. Evil Dead television series."

This is as good as it's going to get when it comes to seeing more of Ash Williams in the Evil Dead universe. Campbell has retired from playing Ash in any more live-action projects, as portraying the Deadite slayer proved to become an "endless physical struggle" by the end of Ash vs. Evil Dead. Fortunately, Campbell is still happy to lend his voice to Ash for fans to kill Deadites as the character in digital form. Perhaps if the game sells well enough, we could also get an animated series, as Campbell has said he's up for voicing Ash in an Evil Dead cartoon.

Evil Dead: The Game will be released in February 2022 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. You can find out more about the game at the official website.
