Sony Pictures and FilmDistrict have set an April 12, 2013 release date for The Evil Dead remake, which Federico Alvarez is directing. As of now, The Evil Dead is the only movie to claim that release date.

The story revolves around a group of friends who venture up to a remote cabin, where they discover the Book of the Dead. They must fight to survive when a demonic force is unleashed after the book is read. We reported in October that the lead character brings his sister up to the cabin, to help kick her drug habit.
