Lionsgate and Summit Entertainment has announced new release dates for the Sylvester Stallone projects Escape Plan and The Expendables 3.

Escape Plan, which reunites Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger,is moving from September 13, 2013 to October 18, 2013. The action-thriller will now go up against Carrie, Don Jon, and The Seventh Son on that date. The story centers on Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone), a security expert who is sent to the prison he helped create, after being framed for a crime he didn't commit.

The Expendables 3 is set for release on August 15, 2014. It is currently the only movie slated for that date. Both of the action-sequel's predecessors had similar mid-August release dates, with The Expendables bowing on August 13, 2010 and The Expendables 2 debuting on August 17, 2012. No story details have been confirmed for this sequel, but Sylvester Stallone will star alongside Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, and Milla Jovovich.
