Robert Luketic has signed on to direct The Expendables all-female spin-off ExpendaBelles for Millennium Films. Despite a report from October, which revealed Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz and Milla Jovovich were in early talks to star, no cast members have been set yet, with the producers currently coming up with their short list of contenders.

Deadline has also released the first plot synopsis for the movie, which you can check out below.

"When America's Navy SEALs are wiped out trying to penetrate the island lair of a deadly despot who has captured one of the world's top nuclear scientists, it becomes clear that there is no such thing as the right man for the job and that this is a mission so impossible that only women can handle it. The only way in: some of the world's deadliest female operatives must pose as high-class call-girls shipped in by private plane to satisfy a dictator-and instead save the scientist and the day."

Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah Lutz (Legally Blonde) wrote the screenplay, with Sylvester Stallone and Kevin King Templeton producing. Heidi Jo Markel, Julie Kroll, Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson and Mark Gill are serving as executive producers, with shooting scheduled to begin this summer.

Robert Luketic most recently directed Paranoia. His other credits include Killers, The Ugly Truth, 21 and Legally Blonde.
