Developed by Steve Yockey and based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Chris Bohjalian, the first series of The Flight Attendant introduces audiences to The Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco as Cassie Bowden, a reckless alcoholic who drinks during flights and spends her time embarking on sexual encounters with strangers, including her passengers. The Flight Attendant soon throws Cassie into a situation far above what she can deal with when she wakes up in a hotel room in Bangkok with a hangover from the night before, she discovers the dead body of a passenger on her last flight lying next to her with his throat slashed.

Frightened, alone, and confused, Cassie does not want to call the police, instead deciding to clean up the crime scene and carrying on with her duties as a flight attendant. Landing in New York, Cassie is quickly questioned by the FBI about the layover in Bangkok. Unable to piece the night together, Cassie suffers from flashbacks and hallucinations as she attempts to solve the murder and figure out who the killer could be.

The first season of The Flight Attendant was met with much critical acclaim upon release, particularly for the central performance of Kaley Cuoco and the series’ pulpy approach to the murder mystery.
