Spoiler Warning: The Flight Attendant Season 1Fasten your seatbelts because The Flight Attendant is making a quick return for season 2 this spring on HBO Max. The series star, Kaley Cuoco, announced on Instagram the upcoming release date and a sneak peek trailer as to what is to come. Cuoco plays Cassie Bowden, an alcoholic flight attendant who drinks during her shifts and hooks up with her passengers, not thinking of the potential consequences her actions can lead to. The Golden Globe and Emmy nominated series was intended to be a miniseries, as revealed by Cuoco in Variety's “Actors on Actors” segment. But because of the first season's success critically and ratings-wise, HBO Max renewed the show for a second season a day after the season one finale, to the excitement of Cuoco and show creator Steve Yockey.

Cuoco, who also executive-produces The Flight Attendant with her production company Yes, Norman Productions, released a statement about the renewal, saying:

"To say that I am elated would be an understatement! The positive response to our show has surpassed all of our expectations and I’m so proud of the entire team behind its success. I’m thrilled to continue my partnership with Team Berlanti, Steve Yockey, HBO Max and of course my beloved studio, Warner Bros. I have amazing partners in Suzanne McCormack and Mackenzie Shade at Yes, Norman Prods., where we are committed to delivering diverse and quality entertainment, including an exciting (and probably a little crazy) TFA season 2!”

After playing Penny on the sitcom The Big Bang Theory, Cuoco surprised fans when it was announced she would star in the mystery thriller based on the 2018 novel by Chris Bohjalian. Cuoco mentioned to Cinema Blend that she realized The Big Bang Theory wouldn't last forever, but once it ended, the actress decided to take on a new role that no one would expect, showing her acting range. The Flight Attendant gave Cuoco her first Golden Globe nomination, something she publicly and tearfully celebrated after being in the industry for thirty years.

As viewers prepare for the upcoming season to be released this April on HBO Max, what can we expect from season two of The Flight Attendant?

The first season of The Flight Attendant is about Cassie, who constantly drinks when working as a flight attendant to avoid thinking about her childhood trauma. As she flies to Bangkok, she spots a passenger named Alex, played by Michiel Huisman, whom she ends up getting drinks with after landing and later hooking up with him. When she wakes up the next morning hungover, she is horrified to see that Alex is dead with his throat slit. Cassie doesn’t remember what happened and decides to clean up the mess and leave to fly back to New York City with the flight crew. But when she lands, the FBI decides to question her and the other crew members about Alex.

Knowing she didn’t have any intention to kill Alex, Cassie attempts to piece together who the real killer may be in an attempt to prove she is innocent while going through drunken hallucinations of Alex. She also begins to get flashbacks from that fateful night and flashbacks from her traumatic childhood, leading to why she is an alcoholic and what she as a person must do to live through her trauma versus hiding from it with booze.
