The Chicago Code star Jason Clarke has landed one of the final key roles in The Great Gatsby adaptation, playing George Wilson.

George Wilson is the husband of Myrtle (Isla Fisher). Myrtle is having an affair with Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton). Leonardo DiCaprio will portray Jay Gatsby, with Carey Mulligan set to play Daisy Buchanan, Tom's wife who falls for Gatsby. Tobey Maguire will play the narrator, Nick Carraway.

Baz Luhrmann is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Craig Pearce. Their script is adapted from the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel of the same name.

Production is scheduled to start sometime this fall in Australia. It is believed that Baz Luhrmann is leaning towards Australian actors, such as Jason Clarke and Joel Edgerton, for the remaining roles, in order to secure tax breaks down under.
